Camping at Knob Creek Gun Range is offered on a first come first serve basis and is pro-rated. Those arriving Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday will pay $50.00 per person, campers setting up Thursday will pay $40.00 per person, campers setting up Friday will pay $30.00 per person and campers setting up Saturday will pay $20.00 per person. Campers under 18 are free if accompanied by their parents. Be advised there are no electric or water hookups, however Port-A- Pots are available.
There is primative camping on the KCR property. There are no hook ups. Closest place is a KOA in Shepherdsville..

does the military gun show go on during the October Machine gun shoot or is the gun show on a different date?
The Military Gun Show goes on during the Machine Gun Shoot every time. It runs Friday from 9am to 8pm, Saturday from 9am to 10pm and Sunday from 9am to 4pm.
The Machine gun shoot and gun show are on the same dates. They are the second weekends of april and october. April does depend on the date of easter. In that case it is the first weekend of april.

I’ve never been to Knob Creek, so just a couple quick questions. What is the protocol on bringing your own firearm? Do weapons need to be in a case? Ammo still in the box?
Knob Creek is operated as a cold range. All weapons are to be unloaded and no magazines in the weapon.
While on the line all weapons that you have need to have chamber flags. They can be purchased for.50
each in the range house. Don’t have to be a member just $10 per person all day shooting. If you are wanting
to know about shooting at the Machine Gun Shoot just let me know. Ammo can be in any container. Guns can be in a case or not in one.
Is the bridge fixed yet?
The bridge is not up but an alternative road is in place. We are open and the shoot will go on as planned.

do you need to be a resident of kentucky to shoot at your range? To be shooting at your machine gun event?
You don’t have to be a Ky resident or even a member to the range to shoot. To shoot during the Machine Gun Shoot we have a lower range for the public to shoot at. That is $10 for a 90 minute relay. To shoot on the main line there is a 10 year waiting list and the shooter must have at least one ground mounted machine gun.
What are the rental prices for a try with say an MG42 or a Browning .50 or .30 caliber, and are there any decent hotels in the area if you are driving from say Washington, D.C.?
I have fired a lot of small small arms, but never anything life the aforementioned, any information would be interesting. Thank you.
Prices for a belt-fed machine gun are around 1 to 1.50 per round. The .50 cal is about 8 – 10 dollars around. The best place for hotels are Shepherdsville, Brooks and Ratcliff. They are the closest and fill up fast. So if you are coming mught what to make the reservation soon. All the information you need is in our website.

How old do you have to be to rent, and shoot firearms at the range?
If you are with a parent, your parent can rent a pistol or rifle. If you are 18 you can rent a rifle. 21 and over you and rent rifle or pistol. MUST be 21 for any handgun.
